20th-25th September 2004
The first stage performance of Oklahoma! was over 61 years ago and this show, which first brought together the talents of Mr Rodgers and Mr Hammerstein III, continues to excite audiences. The recent popularity of the National Theatre revival of the show proves the case.
The simple plot revolves around who will take Laurey Williams to the box social – the handsome and decent Curly McLain or the sinister Jud Fry. Of course with all the best known songs such as “People Will Say We’re In Love”, “The Farmer And The Cowman” and, of course, the title song “Oklahoma!” it’s sure to be a great show.
