Based on the story and characters from the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, this hilarious production turns the world of fairy-tales upside down in an all-singing, all-dancing, musical comedy. Join our unlikely hero Shrek and his loyal steed Donkey as they embark on a quest to rescue the beautiful (if slightly temperamental) Princess Fiona from a fire-breathing, love-sick dragon. Add the diminutive Lord Farquaad, a gang of fairy-tale misfits and a biscuit with attitude, and you’ve got the biggest, brightest musical comedy around!
This was the show that was due to be staged in March 2020, then one week before curtain-up the UK went into lockdown due to COVID-19. We finally got back to rehearsing again in May 2021 with most of the original cast, the final production in September 2021 was one of the first large-scale amateur musicals in the country and was a sell-out smash!
